Missing And Abused Kids
This is an important page, please read it carefully.

The purpose and theme of this page is for HOPE.   Hope for children who are experiencing an abusive life style and hope for children who have been snatched from the security of their home and precious life to experience a horrific nightmare.   We hope you will bookmark this page and come back from time to time to rekindle your resolve to help these kids who are caught up in a tragic existence. If you would like to become a volunteer through the Kids Safety Smart program, to help kids who need someone to love and embrace them, please send us an email and tell us how you would like to get involved. Over four million kids will live a life of fear this year; what can you do to give them some hope?
Know The Facts.  Crimes Against Kids Research Center
Just this past week as I was beginning to set up this page to start our new kids program, I heard a News story of two little girls who were found in their home alone after their mom and dad had over dosed on drugs and died.
The oldest little girl was 2 years old and the youngest was only 7 months. They had been living in the house with the bodies of their parents for almost 3 days surviving only on cat food, which was all they could find to eat. The 2 year old was alert enough to know how to help her little sister get something to eat, whatever they could find until someone found them. Also in the news this week was the story of the 3 little children in Baltimore ages 9 through 10 who were decapitated by a relative and left for their mother to come home and find their lifeless bodies mutilated. The horror that mother must have felt to find her children brutally murdered; I can't even begin to comprehend it or get it out of my mind.
Several kidnapping of young people from the ages of 5 to 19 were also big headlines in the news this week and as you continue to read these stories over and over again, you begin to think to yourself, has the world gone crazy? Are we doing everything we can to keep our kids safe? We have thought long and hard how we at Kids Safety Smart would approach this sensitive issue to develop a program to reach out to helpless kids whose lives are imbedded with fear and a hunger to be loved. As we discussed the problem among ourselves, we decide the best way for us to establish a help program for theses children would be to reach out to people who would volunteer their time to get involved with the task of helping to save precious little lives. The time you can spend with a child who needs love and someone's attention is worth more then all the children help programs put together. Anything you can possibly do to help this important cause, we urge you to be a part of this tremendous need. We can't do it alone; we desperately need your help. Volunteers are what we need the most. There are a lot of children's programs trying to effect the lives of helpless children every day to make a difference and yet with all the programs that exist and all the new programs being started every day, there is still not enough to do the tremendous work to satisfy the need.
We have linked our program with others kids safety programs to be more effective in what we do. As more and more people begin to get involved and become united to the cause of kid’s safety for every child, we can hope to see a brighter future for our kids. One abused child in our society affects us all and as millions each year are tragically abandoned, abused and disposed of, we all feel the tremendous ripple in our lives that effects the peace of our society. If you think the issue of kid's safety doesn't affect you, or that your contribution doesn't matter, think again.
Our program here at Kids Safety Smart has two parts. The first part of our program is to help locate missing kids who have been taken from their home. Each year over 800,000 kids become missing in this country, some of who will fall prey to a ruthless predator who wants nothing more but to destroy their precious little life and others who are taken by a relative caught up in the tragedy of a custody battle.
The second part of our program is to help kids who are trapped in a life style of physical and emotional abuse. These children desperately need someone to love them and show them there's someone who cares about them.
If you would like to get involved in little precious lives, write to us and tell us how you would like to help.
The rewards are everlasting.

Mikelle Biggs
Missing In Arizona
by Bill Bickel
On January 2, 1999, Mikelle rode her bike down the block to wait -- along with her sister and some friends -- for the ice cream truck they'd heard in the distance. One by one, as the truck failed to arrive, her friends left. Finally, her sister left, leaving the 11-year-old Arizona girl waiting alone. Minutes later, Mikelle was gone, leaving behind her bike and her ice cream money. This is a mystery without clues, other than what investigators might guess from the bike and the fifty cents on the sidewalk. Local ice cream vendors and known sex offenders have all been cleared, as well as a man who had a personal grudge against Mikelle's father. By January 6, an estimated 2000 leads had been followed up, and on January 8, the FBI brought in their Child Abduction-Serial Killer Unit to create a probable profile of Mikelle's abductor or abductors. On January 9, what looked like a freshly dug grave just outside of the city was dug up, but it was a false lead. Two more suspects were questioned and cleared on the 13th, and two potential witnesses were hypnotized in hope that they'd remember something -- and while investigators won't comment officially, it's assumed that this also came to nothing. A jeep had been spotted around the time of Mikelle's disappearance. On January 19, the driver of the jeep was finally found. He has no connection to the case (though investigators did DNA tests on hair and fibers in the vehicle, just to be sure), and he saw nothing. This case was out of the news for almost 2 months. On March 9, the Arizona Central reported that only one homeowner in the neighborhood refuses to allow his house to be searched. He's described as "arrogant", not a suspect, but his name is being withheld by the police because they fear public hostility against him. On March 10, not far from Mikelle's home, it was reported that a man tried to abduct a 10-year old and an 11-year-old girl from a schoolyard. The police considered this a promising lead -- but the next day, it was revealed to have been a hoax.

Help Us Break The Cycle
Break the cycle of child abuse. This year over 5 million children will experience some form of child abuse of which the majority of those children will grow up to be abusive. Stop the abuse and break the cycle. Get involved in helping to save precious little lives. If you have children of your own who someday will grow up and marry to have children of their own, would you want them to choose an abusive spouse unaware? Adults who were abused as a child may not show the signs of abuse until later in their adult years when life circumstances become to difficult for them to cope with and their reaction is to strike out.
It's a hard fight when the statistics keep going up each year and the fact that child abuse has become so commonplace in our society. The children we save today will help us to push back those numbers until maybe someday we can heal our nation completely of this terrible affliction on our children. We all feel the effects of child abuse in our lives and in our society; it will take all of us to stop it.
Only if you will volunteer to get involved.

Consider This
If you know of a child who’s in need of someone's help to become involved in assuring his or her safety, write to us. All emails we receive in regards to protecting children’s lives are kept totally confidential.
Sometimes you want to help but your not sure, what is the right thing to do? When it comes to a child’s safety, getting involved either directly or indirectly is always the right thing to do.
